Baobab
A massive baobab tree (Adansonia digitata) silhouetted against a dust strom in Kordofan, in the west of Sudan. Leafless for nine months of the year and with a thick, corky trunk, it has an ‘upside-down’ appearance, and is well adapted to the arid conditions in which it grows. It is a native of Africa.
